I went to Evans Cycles in Edinburgh on 24/08 to purchace a new road bike, there were not enough staff on the shop floor to assist me, I hung about for nearly 30 mins and there were people in front of me waiting to speak to a member of staff so I left. I went up to the Edinburgh Bicycle co-op and although it was busier there were plenty staff and I was assisted with in 5 mins and ended up buying my bike there. Shame because the one I was originaly going to purchace was in Evans!

I recently visited the store with my wife with the intention of buying her a new mountain bike. After a quick browse around the store there only seemed to be about 4 women's mountain bikes on display, all of which were under £300, which is appalling considering the size and location of the store. I approached both members of staff, who were leaning on the counter chatting between themselves, to see if there were any other women specific mountain bikes in the store that I had missed. The response I received was quite simply “No, not in store” no offer of any other help or advice. As a result I bought a bike for my wife elsewhere. The staff had no interest in serving us, explaining the lack of women's bikes or offering any solutions. Their behaviour and the companies apparent disregard for women cyclists has put me off shopping at any of their stores and I would not recommend Evans cycles to others.

Yet again refused to take back a product that was clearly defective, this time a pair of (usually very good) Karimor Snow Boots, they're literally falling apart and the manager refuses to replace them let alone refund. Rediculous.
