We had to board our 4 1/2 month kitten for 5 days over half term. We chose Colinton Country Cattery for convenience initially but also based on a visit (recommended by the owner and staff).it was a busy time (half term) so our precious kitty was allocated one of the overflow spaces in the stables. These are spacious and airy - particularly spacious for a kitten! They do look bare. And cold to start with but bedding and heating pads soon sort that out on arrival.
I personally find drop-off traumatic but kitty was relaxed and staff were reassuring which helped no end. I was encouraged to phone or email whilst we were away, to check up if I wanted to - I did and the response was thoughtful and helpful.
The staff were happy to personalise the service around our kitten due to her age and diet and kitten was relaxed and healthy on pickup.
I will never find leaving a pet anywhere easy but I would happily leave my cat at Colinton Country Cattery again and recommend it to others.

IN APRIL THIS YEAR WE LEFT OUR BELOVED FAMILY DOG ROXY IN THE CARE OF THESE PEOPLE TO GO ON HOLIDAY TO BLACKPOOL . WITHIN FOUR HOURS WE GOT A PHONE CALL TO TELL US OUR DOG HAD GOT HER HEAD STUCK IN THE KENNEL DOOR AND SHE WAS DEAD . I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO THINK TWICE BEFORE LEAVING YOUR PET HERE.

We have been using the Crowbank for many years as they were recommended to us by other happy pet owners. The service is second to none. The cattery area is warm and designed in such a way that the cats can see one another and there are toys for them to play with - the place is spotlessly clean. The kennels likewise are spacious and the staff are happy for you to inspect where your pet will be staying without the usual "appointment needed beforehand" nonsense. There are super large outdoor play areas for the dogs and they are also walked and groomed, and medication will be given to your pets at no extra charge. The owners and staff genuinely care about your pets and are very welcoming and friendly and if you live in the Cumbernauld area I cannot recommend them highly enough - we are extremely choosy about where our pets stay as they are much loved members of our family and we can honestly say that your pets will probably come out looking better than when they went in! Our only word of warning is that they book up very early in advance due to their excellent reputation so book early! In the past we were unable to get booked up at the Crowbank so we had to use another kennel in the area (a couple of miles along the road, just outside Luggiebank) which we thought was dreadful in comparison with rude and arrogant staff and our pets were filthy when they came out. The Crowbank also do a first class bathing and grooming service.

I have used Black Cat Cattery originally in Glassford now at Deadwaters since June 2000 when I was moving back to Scotland and needed somewhere for my then 6 cats to board long term. The cattery was recommended at that time by a local vet known to my family. Linda the owner was fantastic and I was encouraged to visit my cats whenever I wanted. We go on hols various times in the year and my now 8 cats enjoy their stay at Black Cat Cattery. The pens are large with an outside run which looks over the fields and beautiful countryside and a lovely indoor heated area to snuggle up in. My eldest cat does not keep good health now but I feel safe in the knowledge that her complex dietry and medicinal needs are well catered for and that Linda is always around should she need any extra care or medical attention. Linda knows all the cats individual personalities and is dedicated to their welfare. If I was a cat I would request that my hols were there!!!!! As the previous review I too find it incredible that some one could write such vendictive nonsense and would question the reasoning behind it!

Never, ever would use these people again. My 2 dogs absolutely stank and the owners of the kennels had some strange views on what I should or shouldn't be feeding my dogs. When I requested they be fed their own food as opposed to the diet of raw meat these people recommended I was not exactly popular. Never, ever use this place, highly recommend the care given to my animals by the lovely staff at The Willows Kennels in Larkhall however.
