As a counselling agency, Lifeline is a member of COSCA and is governed by this Body's ethics and counselling standards. The counsellors are trained. All counselling is non-directive and non-judgemental. It aims to hold women therapeutically in a freeing and empowering way. It is a charity principally funded by two of its own shops(in Portobello and Gorgie.) It is mostly staffed by volunteers. They are Christians, Muslims and Agnostics motivated to support women in crisis.

Scientologists. At their worst, ruthlessly preying on the vulnerable. At their best, just bonkers.

Be warned... although they aren't allowed to describe themselves as a "church" in Scotland, this is a branch of the cult that is elsewhere known as the 'Church of Scientology'. Based on the science fiction writings of the deranged L Ron Hubbard (simply "Ron" to his followers), this overpriced 'self help' group will help itself to the contents of your bank account... and then expect you to max out your credit cards and remortgage your house as well. This is madness. Avoid. If you want proof, search on Google and learn what happened to Lisa McPherson.

Ignore all the crap of the other reviews. This is a nice place with nice people. My advice is go and see for yourself. Did a personality test and it was very accurate and I bought a book which I'm reading it was my own choice and that was that.
