It's really impressive building, from the photos you will see only the luxury but you should be there to feel the class and the magic which live in the hotel. I enjoy all extras which were provided such as the Spa and the pool. Another bonus is that the hotel is situated conveniently for a vacation in Edinburgh.

The Caley Bar used to be a place I'd avoid at all cost. But walking past after a delicious meal at Galvin Brasserie next door, we peered in and thought to give it a go. I'm glad we did. I felt like we'd walked onto the set of Mad Men. The bar has been completely refurbished with a cool 60s vibe, vintage style furniture and photos of Jean Shrimpton et al on the walls. Table service was in place, even on a Saturday night and they make a mean Manhattan.

I attended a wedding at Caledonian last month. The hotel was nice before but since it become Waldorf it's simply fairy. The interior was magnificent, like in an old palace. The staff has everything under control during the whole evening, apparently it's really experienced. I plan to spend next New Year's eve there.
